China Nuclear Group's Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant Unit 7 has completed cold functional testing.
On July 23, the No. 7 unit of the Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant of the China National Nuclear Corporation completed the cold functional test, marking the transition from the installation phase to the commissioning phase, and laying a solid foundation for the subsequent comprehensive commissioning work of the unit. It is reported that the Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant plans to build a total of 8 nuclear power units, with Units 1-6 already in operation, and Units 7 and 8 scheduled to start commercial operation in 2026 and 2027, respectively. After all 8 units are completed, the total installed capacity of the Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant will exceed 9 million kilowatts, providing clean electricity of over 70 billion kilowatt-hours per year, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 57.4 million tons annually.
