Guangdong Qingyuan Huangmaoxia Reservoir Project starts construction.
On July 22, the iconic major water conservancy project of "two branches" construction in the country - the Huangmaoxia Reservoir in Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province broke ground in Dawan Town, Yingde City, Qingyuan. The project is primarily focused on flood control, while also considering navigation, power generation, and irrigation. After completion, it can further improve the flood control system in the middle and lower reaches of the Beijiang River, effectively increase the supply of clean energy, improve waterway logistics, and agricultural irrigation conditions. The Huangmaoxia Reservoir project is located 6 kilometers downstream of the main channel of the Lianjiang River in Dawan Town, Yingde City, with a flood control capacity of 547 million cubic meters and a total storage capacity of 562 million cubic meters, with an estimated total investment of 13.5 billion yuan. The construction content includes hub construction, flood protection engineering in Dawan Town, and land acquisition and resettlement engineering.
