HNA Group's former American executive and CEO Tan Xiangdong was sentenced to six years in prison for three crimes and punishments.

ADAM TAN, the 58-year-old former CEO of Hainan Airlines Group Ltd., was sentenced by the Intermediate People's Court of Haikou for the crimes of breach of trust causing harm to the interests of a listed company, fraudulently obtaining loans, and embezzlement of duty, with a total of 6 years imprisonment. On July 21, 2025, a spokesperson from the Haikou court briefed reporters on the situation. They also mentioned that Tan Xiangdong has not yet indicated whether he will appeal the verdict.
