Reporters learned from the Kunming Customs that in the first half of this year, the import and export freight volume of the Lancang-Mekong River international shipping reached 125,700 tons, with a cargo value of 1.547 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 92.8% and 136.5% respectively. As the "Golden Waterway" connecting China with Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam, the Lancang-Mekong River international shipping is developing rapidly, effectively promoting trade and cultural exchanges among the member countries of the Greater Mekong Subregion, injecting strong momentum into the advancement of the Belt and Road Initiative.
