Innovation and development cooperation between the two sides in Dongguan was deepened at the 2025 inter-provincial meeting held in Beijing.

On July 21, 2025, Zhou Haibing, Deputy Director of the National Development and Reform Commission, chaired the annual inter-provincial meeting on deepening cross-strait innovation and development cooperation in Dongguan in Beijing. The meeting emphasized the need to continue promoting deepening cross-strait innovation and development cooperation in Dongguan, striving to create a new engine for industrial innovation and development across the strait, a new highland for cross-strait scientific and technological innovation cooperation, a new hub for cross-strait social and cultural exchanges, and a new platform for exchanges and cooperation among the strait, and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regions. This will contribute to promoting economic and cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two sides of the strait, and deepening integration and development across the strait.
