Trump ally accuses Fed Chair of perjury

Republican federal congressman Anna Paulina Luna from Florida has accused Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell of perjury and is demanding criminal charges be brought against him. According to a report from Fox News on July 21st, Luna wrote a letter to the Department of Justice, accusing Powell of committing perjury on two occasions. This accusation comes as President Trump and his allies continue to pressure Powell to step down. Luna stated in her letter that Powell made "multiple substantive false statements" under oath on June 25th before the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee regarding the renovation of the Federal Reserve building.
