The Chinese Embassy in Thailand issued a notice on the 22nd, reminding Chinese citizens in Thailand to prepare for strong winds and heavy rain, and to increase their awareness of prevention. According to the Thai newspaper Bangkok Post reported on the 21st, affected by the tropical storm "Wipha", the provinces of Phuket and nearby Krabi in southern Thailand along the Andaman Sea coast experienced strong winds and heavy rain, with rough seas. The Chinese Consulate General in Songkhla stationed in Phuket confirmed to reporters that a Chinese citizen was killed on the 20th when a large tree blown down by strong winds hit them on Coral Island in Phuket, and another Chinese citizen drowned while swimming in the sea in Krabi. The embassy reminded Chinese citizens in Thailand to closely monitor the weather forecast, adjust their travel plans reasonably, try to avoid going out during heavy rain, be cautious of sudden disasters such as flash floods, stay away from mountainous areas, riversides, and low-lying dangerous areas, be cautious in participating in offshore activities, never go into the water or participate in sea activities in severe weather conditions, wear life-saving equipment throughout the water-related activities, be vigilant against offshore currents, and take care of elderly and minors in the party. The Thai meteorological department warned that heavy rainfall and large waves in many parts of Thailand are expected to continue until the 24th.
