Hong Kong plans to revise regulations to simplify the procedures for applicants of the "Guangdong vehicles travel to the south" scheme.
On July 21st, it was reported that the Hong Kong SAR Government's Transport and Logistics Bureau announced on the 18th that four revised regulations related to the application for cross-border vehicle permits have been published, aimed at providing better convenience for cross-border vehicles and optimizing the arrangements for closed road permits and international passage permits. A spokesperson for the Hong Kong SAR Government's Transport and Logistics Bureau stated that with the increasing frequency of transportation between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, the government has been actively improving the services related to the Transport Department's permits. "The revised regulations will optimize the application procedures and requirements. We expect that it will reduce and simplify the procedures for applicants or permit holders of regular quota schemes, 'Hong Kong vehicles heading north,' and the recently announced 'Guangdong vehicles heading south,' making it more convenient for them."
