Alaska Airlines, an American airline, experienced an IT failure on Sunday local time, which affected their systems. The company announced that they had suspended all flights but did not specify the nature of the failure. "Around 8 pm Pacific Time on Sunday, Alaska Airlines experienced an IT failure, impacting our operations. Alaska Airlines issued a statement to the media on Sunday evening via email stating: 'We are requesting that all Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air flights be temporarily suspended system-wide.' The Seattle-based airline company stated that operations throughout the evening would be affected, but did not provide more specific details. The Federal Aviation Administration's status page showed that the mainline aircraft of Alaska Airlines and the ground stops of Horizon Air were affecting all destinations. The Alaska Air Group website shows that the group operates a fleet of 238 Boeing 737 aircraft and 87 Embraer EMB-175 aircraft. In June of this year, Hawaiian Airlines, a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group, announced that some of its IT systems were disrupted due to a hacker attack."
