Shanghai Municipal Health Commission: Currently advancing the standardization research of medical accompaniment, striving to establish local standards as soon as possible.

During the third session of the Sixteenth Shanghai Municipal People's Congress, representatives proposed the "Proposal on Strengthening Standardized Management of Accompanying Caregiver Training". Recently, the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission replied to this proposal. The Shanghai Municipal Health Commission revealed in the reply that currently, Shanghai is promoting the standardization research of medical accompaniment. The project "Research on Adaptability Standards of Medical Accompaniment" undertaken by Huadong Hospital has been identified as a research topic for the 2024 pre-research project of the Shanghai Municipal Health Standards, involving requirements for accompanying service agencies, accompanying personnel, service processes, quality evaluation, and control. "According to the schedule, questionnaire interviews, data collection, and other work are currently underway, and it is planned to be completed by the end of 2025. The Municipal Health Commission will organize the Municipal Medical Service Standards Committee to timely submit the standards to the competent authority based on the results of the project, striving to issue local standards as soon as possible. At the same time, in coordination with the Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau and the Municipal Elderly Services Industry Association, regulations for accompanying care management will be developed to promote the healthy development of the accompanying care service industry," the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission stated in its reply.
