According to The Paper, during the third session of the 16th Shanghai Municipal People's Congress, a delegate proposed the "Recommendations on Strengthening the Standardized Management of Accompanying Visitors Training." Recently, the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission responded to this proposal. The Shanghai Municipal Health Commission revealed in its response that currently, Shanghai is advancing the standardization research of medical accompaniment. The project "Research on Adaptive Standards for Medical Accompaniment" undertaken by Huadong Hospital has been identified as a research topic for the preparatory work of health standards in Shanghai in 2024, mainly involving accompanying service institutions, requirements for accompanying personnel, service processes of institutions, quality evaluation and control of services, among others. "According to the schedule, the work such as questionnaire interviews and data collection is currently underway, and it is planned to be completed by the end of 2025. The Municipal Health Commission will organize the Municipal Medical Services Standards Committee to apply for standards to the competent local standard authorities in a timely manner based on the results of the "Research on Adaptive Standards for Medical Accompaniment," striving to introduce local standards as soon as possible. At the same time, in collaboration with the Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau and the Municipal Elderly Care Service Industry Association, regulations for accompaniment management will be drafted to promote the healthy development of the accompanying service industry," the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission stated in its reply.
