Huang Renxun says which model is the most intelligent is not important, what is important is "which model is most useful"
Nvidia founder Jensen Huang held a press conference in Beijing on July 16th. When asked if "China's large-scale model technology has caught up with the United States," Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said, "China's models like DeepSeek, Tongyi Qianwen, and Kimi are all excellent. These models demonstrate extremely high efficiency according to their design goals." He specifically pointed out the openness advantage of Chinese models: "They are open source and can be adapted to various application scenarios. Enterprises can develop products, establish companies, and build business models based on these open models." Huang believes that the criteria for evaluation are changing: "In the long term, 'which model is the smartest' will become less and less important, what matters is 'which model is the most practical'. It's like I wouldn't give IQ tests to employees, but rather focus on who is the most efficient and valuable." He emphasized that the choice of AI depends on the specific application scenario: "It all depends on how you use AI, different needs may choose different products."
