On July 16, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a routine press conference. Spokesperson Chen Binhua stated that on the 28th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland, Hong Kong was once again named the "world's freest economy," maintaining its position as the world's third largest international financial center, ranking third in global competitiveness, third in foreign direct investment inflows, and serving as the headquarters of the international mediation center. These are strong evidence of Hong Kong's development and vitality, reflecting the wide recognition of stability, freedom, and prosperity in Hong Kong by the international community, demonstrating the strong vitality of the "one country, two systems" principle, and indicating that Hong Kong will surely have a better tomorrow. The Democratic Progressive Party authorities have no qualification to meddle in Hong Kong affairs, attempting to attack the "one country, two systems" principle to cover up their own administrative incompetence, obstruct Hong Kong-Taiwan civil exchanges, and will not succeed.
