AMD announces to resume exporting AI chips to China

According to the Reference News website citing the Singapore's Lianhe Zaobao website on July 16th, the US chip company AMD Semiconductor said that after the US announced approval for sales, the company plans to resume exporting its MI308 chip to China. Earlier, the US made a similar decision on a chip from Nvidia. The AMD spokesperson said on July 15th that the US Department of Commerce notified the company that the license application for the MI308 product will enter the review process. The MI308 chip is an AI accelerator designed by AMD specifically for the Chinese market.
