According to reports, a new teardown report from the globally renowned financial institution UBS shows that the material cost of Apple's first foldable screen phone, the iPhone Fold, is estimated to be $759, about 4% lower than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold SE's $790. Despite using higher cost materials for the casing and hinge, Apple has successfully achieved cost reduction by optimizing core components such as memory, processor, and camera modules. The report shows that the iPhone Fold uses an aerospace-grade titanium alloy frame and liquid metal hinge, with a unit cost 15%-20% higher than Samsung's aluminum alloy and steel hinge, but Apple has reduced assembly costs by 8% through integrated precision processing technology.
