Wang Yi: The Shanghai Cooperation Organization Tianjin Summit will be held from August 31st to September 1st.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, on July 15, 2025, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced during a joint press conference with SCO Secretary-General Yerlan Baev that, as agreed by member states, the SCO Summit will be held in Tianjin from August 31 to September 1. This is a top priority for the rotating presidency of China. At that time, leaders from more than 20 countries and heads of 10 international organizations will attend the summit-related activities. Wang Yi stated that the Tianjin Summit will be the largest in the history of SCO summits. It is believed that, with the joint efforts of all parties, the Tianjin Summit will definitely become a unity, friendship, and fruitful event, and the SCO will enter a new stage of high-quality development that is more united, more cooperative, more dynamic, and more proactive.
