On July 10, 2025, Liu Liehong, the Director of the National Bureau of Statistics, met with the visiting President of the International Data Space Association, Reinhold Acheson, in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on data space construction, cross-border data flow, and other issues. Liu Liehong stated that the National Bureau of Statistics is solidly promoting the marketization and value exploration of data elements, and has conducted a lot of practical work in coordinating the planning and construction of digital China, digital economy, digital society, and international cooperation in the data field. Following the systematic promotion of "rules + technology," the National Bureau of Statistics is accelerating the establishment of a trusted data exchange environment, promoting the construction and application of a trusted data space, and promoting the flow of data in a secure manner. The International Data Space Association is welcomed to play a role in China-European data cooperation. Reinhold Acheson, the President of the International Data Space Association, highly praised the National Bureau of Statistics for its exploration and practice in the data field, and looks forward to deepening exchanges with the National Bureau of Statistics in data space construction, standard rule consensus, cross-border data flow, and other areas, in order to jointly promote cooperation with international influence.
