Police expose "TikTok Meeting" as a scam software. TikTok urgently clarifies: they have never developed the app.

According to media reports, Beijing Police officers have stated that the apps "Douyin Meeting" and "UnionPay Meeting" are fraudulent software that remotely steal money from smartphones and erase any traces of fraud. In response to this, the official Douyin Blackboard microblog stated, "Douyin has never had a 'Douyin Meeting' app! This is a fraudulent software! Scammers can control your phone directly through its screen sharing function, and steal your money. Be wary of any calls or messages asking you to download unknown apps, do not download, do not transfer money, do not share your screen!"
