Lockheed Martin Corporation delivers 72 F-35 aircraft to the US government.
On July 14th local time, the central television reporter learned that the Pentagon's Project Office announced that as of May 1st this year, Lockheed Martin has delivered 72 F-35 fighter jets to the US government. Prior to this, due to delays in software improvements, the delivery work was postponed for several months. The Department of Defense withheld the final payment of up to $5 million for each aircraft until Lockheed Martin proved that software and hardware upgrades could support intensive training missions and ultimately full combat operations.
