The Central City Work Conference was held in Beijing. The conference deployed key tasks in seven aspects of city work. Firstly, it focuses on optimizing the modern urban system. Secondly, it focuses on building vibrant innovative cities. It meticulously nurtures an innovative ecosystem and continuously makes breakthroughs in the development of new productive forces; relies on reform and opening up to enhance urban dynamism, conducts high-quality urban renewal, and fully leverages the pivotal role of cities in domestic and international circulation. Thirdly, it focuses on building comfortable and convenient livable cities. It insists on integrated planning for population, industry, cities, and transportation, and optimizes urban spatial structures; accelerates the construction of a new model for real estate development, steadily promotes the transformation of urban villages and dangerous old houses; vigorously develops lifestyle service industries, improves the level of public services, and firmly secures the livelihood bottom line. Fourthly, it focuses on building green, low-carbon, beautiful cities. It consolidates the results of ecological environment governance and adopts more effective measures to address issues such as urban air management, protection of drinking water sources, and control of new pollutants, and promotes coordinated efforts to reduce pollution, carbon emissions, and expand greenery, enhancing urban biodiversity. Fifthly, it focuses on building resilient, safe, and reliable cities. It promotes the construction of projects to ensure the safety of urban infrastructure lifelines, speeds up the renovation and upgrading of old pipelines; strictly limits super high-rise buildings, comprehensively improves the level of housing safety guarantees; strengthens urban natural disaster prevention and control, coordinates urban flood control systems and waterlogging management; strengthens overall prevention and control of social security, effectively safeguards public safety in cities. Sixthly, it focuses on building civilized cities that honor virtue and kindness. It perfects the system for the protection and inheritance of historical and cultural heritage, improves the urban landscape management system, protects the unique historical context, human geography, and natural landscapes of cities; strengthens the construction of urban cultural soft power, and enhances the civic literacy. Seventhly, it focuses on building smart cities that are convenient and efficient. It adheres to the leadership of the Party, adheres to the rule of law in governance, innovates the concept, model, and means of urban governance, makes good use of mechanisms such as the citizens' service hotline, and efficiently solves the urgent and difficult problems of the masses.
