According to Xinhua News Agency, the "2030 Sustainable Development Goals Report" released by the United Nations on the 14th showed that out of the 169 specific items in the sustainable development goals, only 35% have progressed smoothly, nearly half have progressed slowly, and 18% have regressed. The report showed that significant progress has been made in the areas of public health, education, energy, and digital connectivity. The number of new HIV infections has decreased by about 40% since 2010; since 2000, malaria prevention and control has saved 12.7 million lives; the social security coverage rate now exceeds 50%; compared to 2015, there are 110 million more children and youth enrolled in school; the number of child marriages has decreased, and the number of women in politics has increased; by 2023, 92% of the global population has access to electricity; the internet usage rate has increased from 40% in 2015 to 68% in 2024; and the protection level of key ecosystems has significantly improved. The report also showed that the current progress is not sufficient to achieve all the sustainable development goals by 2030. There are still 800 million people in absolute poverty globally; billions of people lack access to safe drinking water and sanitation services; climate change is worsening; in 2024, armed conflicts have resulted in nearly 50,000 deaths and displaced 120 million people by the end of the year.
