China has built the largest and most modern high-speed railway network in the world. As of 2024, the operating mileage of high-speed railways in China has reached 48,000 kilometers, accounting for over 70% of the total high-speed railway mileage in the world. China has already built a main framework of eight vertical and eight horizontal lines, covering over 97% of cities with a population of over 500,000 nationwide. This data was released at the 12th World High-Speed Railway Congress held recently in Beijing. At the same time, a large number of Chinese railway technology and equipment, such as the 400 kilometers per hour EMU and the 600 kilometers per hour superconducting maglev train, were showcased at the 17th China International Modern Railway Technology and Equipment Exhibition. In the future, China's high-speed railways will continue to focus on breakthroughs in key areas such as higher speeds, smarter technology, increased safety, and greater environmental sustainability.
