AI can accurately locate the blood vessels with heart attack changes, and is expected to provide efficient early warning signals.
Recently, Dr. Zhang Yi, chief physician of the cardiovascular department, and Dr. Zhao Yifan, deputy chief physician at the Tenth People's Hospital of Shanghai, developed and verified a special algorithm that can accurately identify the diseased vessels of patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction through high-precision analysis of standard 12-lead electrocardiogram waveforms. The related research was published in "British Medical Journal - Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence". In the future, this system will provide efficient early warning for high-risk populations and postoperative patients, enabling early identification of myocardial infarction, reducing the mortality rate and risk of sudden cardiac death from myocardial infarction. It may also improve the ability of emergency/ chest pain centers in primary care hospitals and hospitals with insufficient experience in the treatment of myocardial infarction to recognize acute myocardial infarction, thus improving the prognosis of myocardial infarction patients.
