On the afternoon of July 11, 2025, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the 32nd ASEAN Regional Forum Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Kuala Lumpur. Wang Yi said that security is closely related to development. The rapid development of the Asia-Pacific region benefits from the overall peaceful and stable regional environment, which should be cherished even more. The ASEAN Regional Forum is an important multilateral security platform led by ASEAN in the Asia-Pacific region, with important responsibilities in maintaining regional peace and stability. The "ASEAN Community Vision 2045" proposes to revitalize the ARF and strengthen the establishment of trust-building measures, which China welcomes. Wang Yi stated that the world is entering a period of turmoil and change, and it is necessary to ensure the stable development of the Asia-Pacific region and continue the effective role of the ARF. China's proposition is to uphold a common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable security concept, promote the construction of a balanced, effective, and sustainable security architecture, actively construct an Asian security model of common security and shared interests, seek common ground while reserving differences, and engage in dialogue and consultation, leading to a new path of security that is based on dialogue rather than confrontation, partnership rather than alliance, and win-win cooperation rather than zero-sum games.
