Shanghai established nearly 2500 new foreign-funded enterprises from January to May this year.

At the 41st batch of multinational companies' regional headquarters and research and development centers certification ceremony held in Shanghai on July 11th, it was learned that from January to May this year, nearly 2500 new foreign-funded enterprises were established in the city, with actual foreign investment exceeding 7.6 billion US dollars. In recent years, Shanghai's headquarters economy has been rapidly gathering. Up to now, Shanghai has cumulatively reached 1042 regional headquarters of multinational companies and 605 foreign-funded research and development centers, maintaining its position as the city with the most concentrated regional headquarters of multinational companies and foreign-funded research and development centers in mainland China. On the 11th, 30 multinational companies' regional headquarters and 15 foreign-funded research and development centers recognized by Shanghai were awarded certificates. At the same time, a total of 56 foreign investment projects were signed on site, with a total investment of approximately 3.68 billion US dollars, including 33 projects signed on site involving key fields such as biomedicine, fashion consumer goods, finance, automobiles, business services, as well as new sectors such as digital economy and green low-carbon.
