Following in the footsteps of Oracle, Google (GOOGL.US) joins the "price war" for cloud services targeting the US government.
According to the Wisdom Financial APP, media reports quoted a senior official from the United States General Services Administration (GSA) as saying that Google (GOOGL.US) will significantly reduce its pricing for cloud computing services to the U.S. government. The U.S. government has intensified efforts to cut federal information technology spending, focusing on long-term contracts with major technology suppliers. As a result, large tech companies including Google, Microsoft (MSFT.US), Amazon (AMZN.US), and Oracle (ORCL.US) are all facing the need to provide substantial discounts to enhance the attractiveness of their cloud services.
