Wang Yao, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers: Domestic independent brands need to face the gap with Tesla in autonomous driving.

Wang Yao, Deputy Chief Engineer of China Automobile Industry Association, stated at the 2025 China Automobile Forum that he has noticed that domestic self-media often compare domestic autonomous driving brands with Tesla, and conclude that domestic autonomous brands are far better than Tesla. He reminded everyone to face the gap with international advanced level. "Every time Tesla proposes a concept of a key technological milestone, they are the first to do so, and our industry follows suit." He specifically pointed out that in terms of computing power, all AI graphics cards of domestic automakers combined do not match Tesla's Dojo alone.
