Wang Yi meets with Malaysian Foreign Minister Muhammad

On July 10, 2025, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Malaysian Foreign Minister Muhammad in Kuala Lumpur. Wang Yi said that President Xi Jinping's successful state visit to Malaysia in April this year marked an important milestone in the history of bilateral relations as both sides announced the establishment of a high-level strategic community of shared destiny between China and Malaysia. Both sides agreed to implement the consensus reached by the two country's leaders, implement the cooperation plan for the Belt and Road Initiative, strengthen economic and trade investment, promote connectivity cooperation, advance key projects such as the East Coast Rail Link and the Twin Parks project, deepen cooperation in frontier areas, seize the opportunities of the new industrial revolution, and jointly build a highland of regional new productive cooperation. They also agreed to continue hosting the "Confucius-Islamic Civilizations Dialogue", implement the soon-to-be-effective visa exemption agreement, strengthen people-to-people exchanges, and consolidate public opinion foundation. China is willing to work with Malaysia to enhance political mutual trust, deepen interest integration, strengthen strategic coordination, promote generations of friendship, and gradually turn the road map outlined by the leaders of the two countries into a "real scene" to create more benefits for the people of both countries and contribute more to regional peace, stability, and prosperity.
