Brazilian President Lula: It's not a problem for me to call Trump, but there is nothing to talk about at the moment.
Brazilian president Lula said in an interview with the local broadcasting company Globo, "I have no problem calling President Trump, but I need a reason." Lula said there is currently nothing to discuss with Trump. He said he will do everything possible to negotiate, but if that fails, he will use Brazil's equivalent laws. Lula claimed that Trump is trying to undermine the good relationship between Brazil and the United States. He said that the trade war with Trump may never end. Lula mentioned that at the BRICS summit, the possibility of having their own currency or trading with other countries without using the dollar was discussed. Trump has no reason to be tense with the BRICS countries. Trump has the right to impose tariffs, but other countries also have the right to respond. Trump will face consequences in the United States.
