Release of International Standard for Evaluation of Autonomous Driving Testing Scenarios

date
10/07/2025
According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the international standard "Test Scenarios for Road Vehicle Automated Driving Systems - Scenario Evaluation and Test Case Generation" led by China was officially released recently. Test scenarios are the basis for evaluating the functionality and performance of automated driving systems, and are a core element supporting the application of "multi-pillar" automated driving safety verification methods such as simulation and closed-course testing. The diversity, coverage, and typicality of test scenarios directly affect the effectiveness and reliability of test results. This standard mainly specifies the evaluation process and experimental methods for test scenarios of automated driving systems, clarifies the criteria for determining the exposure rate, complexity, and risk level of test scenarios, and defines the general method for generating test cases and their necessary characteristics.
