On Wednesday on the New York market, the US dollar fell nearly 0.2% against the Japanese yen, trading at 146.32 yen. The intraday trading range was between 146.25 and 147.18 yen. The Euro remained relatively unchanged against the US dollar, trading at 1.1722, while the US dollar fell 0.2% against the Swiss franc. Among commodity currencies, the US dollar rose 0.2% against the Canadian dollar. The New Zealand dollar rose 0.1% against the US dollar, with the Reserve Bank of New Zealand keeping interest rates unchanged at 3.25%. President Donald Trump announced a new round of tariffs on Wednesday, which will be imposed in August on imports from trade partners who have failed to reach agreements with the United States. The minutes from the June meeting of the Federal Reserve showed that disagreements among central bank officials about interest rate prospects were mainly due to their differing expectations of the inflationary impact of tariffs.
