The flood prevention emergency response level in Renhuai City, Guizhou Province has been raised from level four to level three.
The office of the Disaster Prevention, Reduction and Relief Committee of Renhuai City announced on July 9th that, based on the previous rainfall and real-time upstream water conditions of the Chishui River Maotai hydrological station, it is expected that a flood peak will occur around 18:00 on July 9th, with the water level exceeding the guaranteed level by 1.00 meter, and weather forecasts indicate that the rainfall will continue in the future. According to the meteorological forecast: influenced by high-altitude troughs and low-level shear, it is expected that from this afternoon to tonight: the city will be mostly cloudy with showers or thunderstorms, with moderate to heavy rain, and towns such as Tangchang, Changgang, and Wuma will experience heavy rain, accompanied by short-term heavy rainfall and other severe convective weather, with maximum hourly rainfall intensity of 20-30 millimeters per hour and maximum accumulated rainfall of 50-70 millimeters. From July 10th to 12th, it will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers or thunderstorms, and locally moderate to heavy rain. In order to prepare for extreme weather conditions, the office of the Disaster Prevention, Reduction and Relief Committee of Renhuai City has decided to upgrade the city's flood prevention emergency response from level four to level three starting from 17:30 on July 9th, in strict accordance with the spirit of the "Provincial Flood Control Dispatch Order [2025] No. 7" and relevant provisions of the "Emergency Plan for Flood Control and Drought Resistance in Renhuai City".
