Near a village in Xuyong County, Sichuan Province, a landslide occurred. One missing person has been found dead.

From 22:00 on July 8th to 1:00 in the early morning of July 9th, there was a short period of heavy rainfall in Dongzhen, Xuyong County, Sichuan Province, with over 150 millimeters of rainfall in 3 hours. In the early morning of July 9th, a sudden landslide occurred at the Sand Slope of the 7th Society in Shizhuang Village, Dongzhen Town, burying a house and causing 5 people to go missing. The surrounding 11 households with 24 people have all been evacuated to a safe area. Rescue workers found the body of one missing person through continuous search using slope radar, who was found with no signs of life. Currently, rescue work is still ongoing. According to the head of the on-site command, based on the current rainfall, water conditions, risk situation, and trends, the Office of Disaster Prevention and Relief of the Luzhou City Committee for Disaster Reduction and Relief has decided to activate a Level 4 emergency response for natural disasters starting from 6:00 on July 9th.
