On July 9th, it was learned from China Southern Airlines that a new international cargo route from Guangzhou to Auckland to Sydney has officially opened. This is the first regular, non-stop, all-cargo flight from mainland China to New Zealand operated by a domestic airline. It is understood that this new route has fifth freedom rights between Australia and New Zealand, allowing airlines to stop in a third country along the route to pick up and drop off passengers and cargo. The new route uses Boeing 777 freighters to operate regular flights, managed by China Southern Airlines Cargo, which will effectively address the shortage of capacity in the Oceania region and significantly reduce the transportation time between the Greater Bay Area and Australia and New Zealand, providing a more efficient logistics solution for more than 300 cross-border e-commerce and high-end manufacturing companies in the Greater Bay Area. Currently, China Southern Airlines Cargo operates 19 Boeing 777 freighters, flying more than 80 regular international flights per week to help the Greater Bay Area establish a global cargo route network.
