Hassett is emerging as a strong contender to become the next Federal Reserve Chairman.

According to informed sources, Kevin Hassett, director of the National Economic Council, is emerging as a strong competitor to become the next chairman of the Federal Reserve. Hassett has met with Trump at least twice in June to discuss the position. Trump had previously mentioned that he had 3 to 4 candidates in mind. Reportedly, these candidates include former Fed governor Warsh, Hassett, current Fed governor Waller, and Treasury Secretary Benson.
