At the first Shanghai Cooperation Organization Standardization Cooperation Conference held in Qingdao, it was learned that the conference passed the "Qingdao Initiative on Strengthening Standardization Cooperation of National Standardization Organizations of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States", establishing a standardization cooperation mechanism for the first time within the SCO framework, which will provide institutional guarantee for member states' standardization cooperation. The relevant person in charge of the State Administration for Market Regulation stated that the Qingdao Initiative is the first to promote the establishment of technical standard cooperation working groups in key areas, promote member states' standardization cooperation in key areas such as artificial intelligence, low-altitude economy, facilitate standards alignment among member states. This will help coordinate and unify relevant industrial standards among member states, reduce technical trade barriers, promote the circulation of goods and services, and enhance the level of regional trade facilitation. For example, by formulating standards in areas such as green energy and digital economy, it can promote the development of related industries and trade, and boost economic cooperation among member states. Standardization cooperation is conducive to promoting the alignment of standards in transportation, logistics, and other infrastructure fields in the SCO region, and building a high-level interconnection network. For instance, coordinating uniform transportation equipment standards, logistics operation norms among SCO member states can improve cross-border transportation efficiency and strengthen interconnection among member states.
