LME copper prices fall as Trump plans to impose a 50% tariff on copper.
London copper futures fell, with US President Trump previously indicating plans to impose a 50% tariff on copper, which could further disrupt the global metal market. At the start of trading on Wednesday, three-month copper futures on the London Metal Exchange fell by 2.4% to $9,553.50 per ton. In recent months, traders have been shipping record amounts of copper to the US in advance of potential tariffs being implemented.
