Intel is laying off more than 500 employees in Oregon, further advancing its downsizing plan.

Intel will cut more than 500 jobs in Oregon as part of its downsizing plan. The plan is expected to eventually affect about 20% of its employees. Intel stated in a regulatory filing that the layoffs in Oregon will start on July 15 at its factories in Aloha and Hillsboro. It is estimated that this round of layoffs will permanently cut about 529 employees. Previously, Intel announced the layoffs of 107 employees at its headquarters in Santa Clara, California.
