Wall Street has differing opinions on the market's future direction.
Last month, analyst Mike Mayo of Wells Fargo said that as long as there is no economic recession, American bank stocks will continue to rise. Baird, on the other hand, downgraded the ratings of JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America due to valuation considerations. At HSBC, analyst Martinez has a more positive view on "super regional banks." He points out that although stocks of banks like US Bancorp, PNC Financial Services Group Inc., and Truist Financial Corp have also experienced increases, their valuations are more attractive, therefore all of them have been given a buy rating.
