National Health Commission: Prohibit the use of "cervical lymphatic duct/structure-vein anastomosis" for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
The General Office of the National Health Commission recently issued a notice prohibiting the use of "cervical deep lymphatic duct/structure-venous anastomosis surgery" in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The notice stated that the National Health Commission has recently learned that some medical institutions have carried out this surgery to treat Alzheimer's disease. In order to further strengthen the clinical application management of medical technology, the National Health Commission organized experts to evaluate this technology. The evaluation found that the technology is still in the early stages of clinical research exploration, with unclear indications and contraindications, and lacking high-quality evidence of safety and effectiveness based on evidence-based medicine. In accordance with relevant regulations on the management of clinical application of medical technology, it is decided to prohibit the use of "cervical deep lymphatic duct/structure-venous anastomosis surgery" in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
