Student did not report Tsinghua Peking University teacher for dissolving group chat? School authorities announced: teacher involved has reflected on their actions and apologized.
On July 7, Rui Chang City First Middle School in Jiangxi Province issued a statement regarding the online rumor that a teacher dissolved a group chat because students did not report their acceptance into top universities. After the release of the college entrance exam results, Teacher Qi suggested that 3 students apply for relevant majors at top universities based on their exam scores and discussions with parents. On July 5, when Teacher Qi found out that the 3 students had not applied for the desired majors at top universities, she made inappropriate comments in a WeChat group. In response to this situation, the school immediately held a teacher meeting where Teacher Qi deeply reflected on her actions and recognized their inappropriateness. The school further emphasized the communication discipline between home and school, requiring teachers to strengthen positive exam recruitment promotion and fully respect students' wishes, and not interfere with students' choice of majors in any way. Currently, the school and Teacher Qi have sincerely apologized to the students and parents, seeking their understanding. The three students have applied for their desired majors according to their own wishes.
