With the deadline for tariff negotiations approaching, investors are cautiously watching the trend of gold.

The price of gold fell to a one-week low on Monday, due to a strong US dollar and investors waiting for trade details before the tariff deadline. Nitesh Shah, a commodity strategist at WisdomTree, stated that the slight pullback in the gold market was likely due to the short-term strength of the US dollar, as US economic data remained strong, eliminating the urgent need for a rate cut. The 90-day tariff suspension period is coming to an end without any satisfactory trade agreements, indicating a net contraction in trade this year, which is not favorable for the economy and may instead provide support for gold.
