Foreign companies filing 337 investigation applications on specific mobile cellular communication devices
According to the official website of the Ministry of Commerce, on July 2, 2025, South Korean company Pantech Corporation filed an application to the U.S. International Trade Commission under Section 337 of the U.S. Tariff Act of 1930, accusing certain mobile cellular communication devices exported to the United States, imported into the United States, or sold in the United States of infringing its patent rights. They requested the initiation of a Section 337 investigation and the issuance of a limited exclusion order and a cease and desist order. Involved in the case are 17 companies from the United States, China, Finland, and other countries.
