The pound is facing the risk of a change in prime minister.
If British Prime Minister Stammer is unexpectedly removed before the 2029 general election, the pound may plummet, especially against the euro. Changing the Prime Minister during the interval between general elections was a rare event, but the Conservative Party has already had three Prime Ministers during the last parliamentary term, including Johnson, Truss, and Sunak. If the Labour Party's poll numbers further deteriorate during the autumn conference, Stammer's ability to continue as Prime Minister until the next general election will be called into question. Polls from "The Sunday Times" show that if an election were held today, the Labour Party would only win 126 seats out of 650, while the Reform Party would win 290 seats. Ladbrokes has odds of 9/2 for Stammer being replaced as the Labour Party leader this year, and odds of 7/2 for next year. During Truss's term, the pound against the euro reached a low of 1.08 in September 2022, with a low of 1.0635 after the 2016 Brexit referendum, and a historical low of 1.02 in December 2008.
