CICC (China International Capital Corporation) stated that following the lifting of the EDA ban in the United States and the signing of a preliminary trade agreement between the U.S. and Vietnam on the same day, investor sentiment has turned positive towards the previously sluggish consumer electronics industry. While the stock prices of many consumer electronics companies are still below their levels before April 2nd, the bank believes that given the limited actual impact of tariffs and early stocking up by U.S. customers ahead of the release of second quarter 2025 results, the current uptrend still has room for sustained growth. The bank pointed out that most consumer electronics companies' stock prices are still lower than on April 2nd (the start of the tariff war). Considering that: 1) the short-term impact of tariffs on the industry's commonly used pricing model with markups is limited; 2) early stocking up by U.S. customers after the start of the tariff war may result in positive surprises for supply chain companies in the second quarter of 2025; 3) the positive sentiment brought by the lifting of the EDA ban and the preliminary trade agreement between the U.S. and Vietnam will continue to boost valuation. In the medium term, the bank believes that closely monitoring the evolution of tariff policies, the sustainability of demand, and whether the release of AR glasses can exceed expectations are crucial. Among supply chain stocks, they have a more positive view of Sunny Optical, AAC Technologies, and BYD Electronics.
