Tesla CEO Elon Musk, after weeks of continued criticism of Trump's signature spending bill, spoke out for the first time on Friday following the passage of the bill. He praised Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul for the post he made on X platform, which criticized the bill for "skyrocketing deficits" and continuing a pattern of "short-term political manipulation over long-term sustainability." The US House of Representatives passed the "beautiful bill" on Thursday by a narrow margin, submitting it for Trump to sign it into law. Paul and Musk have strongly opposed Trump's tax and spending bills, warning multiple times that the spending plan could worsen the national debt crisis. Earlier this week, Musk even denounced it as a "debt enslavement bill."
