In May, new industrial orders in Germany fell by 1.4% compared to the previous month.
Data released by the Federal Statistical Office of Germany on the 4th showed that, due to a significant decrease in domestic demand, seasonally and working day-adjusted industrial new orders in Germany fell by 1.4% month-on-month in May. Among them, domestic orders fell by 7.8% month-on-month, while foreign orders increased by 2.9% month-on-month. Orders within the eurozone decreased by 6.5% month-on-month, while orders outside the eurozone increased by 9% month-on-month. The Federal Statistical Office of Germany stated in its announcement that the decline in new orders for the month was mainly concentrated in the computer, electronic, and optical product manufacturing industry, with a month-on-month decline of 17.7%. Although, after adjusting for working days, industrial new orders in Germany in May increased by 5.3% year-on-year, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy stated that future demand may continue to fluctuate due to trade and geopolitical uncertainties, and the possibility of a further slowdown in future demand should not be ruled out.
