Wang Chuanfu, Chairman of BYD, published an article in the journal of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, calling for strengthening basic research.

Recently, the 40th volume of the journal of the Chinese Academy of Sciences published an article by Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD Co., Ltd., titled "BYD: Practices and Reflections on Driving Green Development through Integrated Innovation." In the abstract, Wang Chuanfu wrote: "In its 30 years of development practice, BYD has adhered to the development concept of 'technology as the king, innovation as the foundation,' seizing new opportunities for technological revolution and industrial transformation: starting from battery manufacturing, leading in whole vehicle research and development, and then innovating in rail transit, continuously deepening integrated development, and achieving positive results in implementing the strategy of innovation-driven development and cultivating new quality productive forces." The article, focusing on BYD's practice of promoting integrated innovation development, summarizes five major features: "technological genes," "vertical integration, integrated innovation," "precision strategy," "talent engine," and "green leadership." It also proposes relevant considerations for strengthening the leading role of corporate innovation, and promoting deep integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation in response to future development needs.
