A local opinion poll released on July 4th shows that as the political situation in the United States changes, German tech startups are becoming more cautious in their attitude towards cooperation with the US: 70% of the surveyed companies believe that under the background of the re-emergence of the Trump administration, the US poses potential risks to the German economy. Out of the 152 surveyed companies, 87% are calling for Germany to further enhance its digital sovereignty and reduce its dependence on the US. At the same time, 35% of startups are taking a wait-and-see attitude in their cooperation with American companies or startup projects, and 31% of companies are reevaluating whether to accept funding from American investors.
