Sichuan has introduced a plan to develop and expand emerging industries, focusing on breakthroughs in 23 areas including artificial intelligence and robotics.

On July 4th, the official microblog of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology announced that recently, the General Office of the Provincial Government issued the "Implementation Plan on Developing and Strengthening Emerging Industries and Accelerating the Cultivation of Future Industries", clarifying the overall goals, key breakthrough directions, and key tasks for developing emerging industries and cultivating future industries in Sichuan. The Plan specifies 23 key breakthrough directions, including 15 in the field of emerging industries such as artificial intelligence, robotics, integrated circuits, new displays, biomedicine, nuclear medicine, commercial aerospace, new aviation, low-altitude economy, hydrogen energy, new energy storage, laser equipment, additive manufacturing, biological agriculture, advanced materials, etc.; and 8 in the field of future industries such as sixth-generation mobile communication, quantum technology, metaverse, cutting-edge biology, brain science and brain-machine interfaces, controllable nuclear fusion, ultra-high-speed rail transportation, deep earth sciences, etc.
